Vice President of Revenue Operations
About The Role
Wise Publishing is a digital publisher of personal finance advice and information aimed at helping people in the U.S. and Canada make sense of finance. We’re a group of talented, passionate people who believe that consumers deserve the best possible information to help them make smart choices.
Our core product is MoneyWise, our widely read, high-quality personal finance brand which serves the U.S. (MoneyWise.com) and Canada (MoneyWise.ca) and reaches over 10 million people each month.
We’re on the lookout for a capable Vice President of Revenue Operations with strong leadership skills. In this role, you will use your extensive experience driving revenue growth through sales, yield management and business development. You will be responsible for planning, forecasting, reporting, quota setting, and sales process optimization. You are an experienced leader who can translate business strategy into tactical results in processes, systems and meaningful KPIs for your team.
Our ideal candidate has a personal finance product background along with deep knowledge of the affiliate-led journey from top of funnel and into the sales pipeline. You are capable of leading teams to help support consistent, measurable and predictable results that drive company growth. You will be responsible for leading an established in-house team to motivate both efficient and scalable growth while maintaining the highest degrees of brand integrity. Your energy, creativity, and attention to detail will make everyone around you feel inspired and more effective.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with the senior leadership team to develop and execute against strategic priorities for the organization.
- Oversee daily operations through collaboration with all team members, senior management and department leaders.
- Lead and mentor the Revenue Operations team in the design, implementation and management of sales forecasting, planning and budgeting processes, in alignment with strategic targets. Support pipeline management and deal reviews.
- Partner with the finance department and senior leadership in developing annual and strategic business plans, as well as organization planning, compensation, budget, quota, and headcount for your department.
- Define and implement optimal performance measurements and performance management programs required to ensure the organization’s success; align reporting, training and incentive programs with these performance management priorities.
- Work closely with data team to monitor against KPIs.
- Review, design and execute plans to improve on identified knowledge and sales performance gaps.
- Improve current processes and coordinate organizational procedures for optimized efficiency and productivity.
- Understand our consumers, the reasons they buy, and the overall market landscape.
- Work with the team to prospect new clients and bring them on board.
- Attending conferences, meetings and industry events as needed representing Wise Publishing, Inc.
- Mentor team members, help in the execution of their duties and ensure their professional skills are constantly improving.
- Lead in the recruiting, hiring and training of new team members on the Revenue Operations team.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience working in the personal finance space.
- Backed by 10+ years of experience in revenue operations, sales, business development, MBA not required but considered an asset.
- Excellent business acumen, exceptional understanding of financial statements and strong analytical, planning and organizational skills.
- Highly solution orientated, with excellent negotiation skills and ability to influence others.
- Proven track record of developing, implementing and driving operational process efficiencies, effective policies and enablement of best practices in alignment with successfully telling the strategic story.
- Strong team builder, mentor, and leader of diverse creative talent.
- Established credibility through vision, thought leadership, technical expertise, and implementation.
- Capable of prioritizing numerous initiatives in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work across multiple silos within the organization and lead cross-functional teams to successful outcomes, including an ability to address complex situations and transform into actionable plans.
- Experience with Salesforce a must.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, and organizational skills.
- Prior experience in the startup environment is a plus.

Content Monetization Specialist
Wise Publishing is a growing digital publication with a focus on Personal Finance. We are looking to expand our editorial team in Toronto with the addition of a Content Monetization Specialist.
About The Role
Are you a whiz with content with a passion for monetization? Why not bring both skills to a team where you can make a huge impact and grow your career!
We need someone with a minimum of 4 years experience working in editorial to help drive monetization on syndication and performance marketing. You will play a key role in ensuring content for monetization opportunities moves from the key content pool into its applicable endpoint in the right shape at the right time. You will not only funnel stories toward an endpoint: you’re equally responsible for understanding what happens after it gets there!
This individual will also have a big role to play with native advertising placements and page layout optimizations.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data analysis and working across teams to drive results. You also have an entrepreneurial spirit and like thinking outside of the box.
Goal of the Role:
- Drive revenue-generating efforts on the editorial and performance marketing teams
- Lead discussions around native advertising placements
- Ideate page layout optimizations
- Focus on driving revenue via syndication, organic, email and other emerging streams such as podcast, video, etc.
Job Responsibilities:
- Take an active role in shaping efforts to grow revenue via content syndication
- Manage and assign tasks to writers and external stakeholders
- Oversee content workflow, paid efforts and content optimization
- Create, update, deliver and iterate content for our display efforts
- Liaise with affiliate partners where necessary
- Ensure our content is in compliance with affiliates and legal
- Coordinate sponsorships with RevOps, VP of Content, Senior editors and Associate Editors
- Work with clients to ensure their needs are met
- Work with editorial team to meet requirements from RevOps
- Create training materials for new teams
- Assist with data tools and ideating new dashboards
Qualifications- Professional & Personal:
- 4+ years of working in an editorial/marketing environment
- Experience in monetization or related experience
- Experience managing a team of 1-to-2 people
- Excellent Stakeholder management skills and know how to hold people accountable to timelines and deliverables
- You have a keen eye for detail and an ability to centralize many moving pieces
- You have an eye for data trends and are comfortable getting in the weeds with numbers
- A collaborative, creative and innovative spirit
- Experience working with Sales

Investing Reporter
Wise Publishing is a growing digital publication with a focus on Personal Finance. We are looking to expand our editorial team in Toronto with the addition of an Investing Reporter.
About The Role
We need a determined and dependable journalist who can tackle complex market and economic information, then distill that information into clear and engaging stories focused on the consumer’s bottom line.
Our ideal candidate is motivated, with a knack for discovering and highlighting interesting trends for our readers. Knowledge of one or more additional financial topics is an asset (i.e. mortgages, personal finance).
Since our readers trust our reporting to inform major financial decisions, accuracy and critical thinking are paramount. The investing reporter will be expected to scrutinize their sources, challenge assumptions and carefully weigh the impact of their insights.
The reporter will work directly with one or more editors, though an ideal candidate will be able to handle challenging subjects without heavy oversight.
Job Responsibilities:
- Stay up to date on stock market movement and major market trends
- Identify and develop story ideas for our audience on syndication
- Brainstorm content ideas with the rest of the team
- Collect, verify and analyze information through online research, data analysis and interviews
- Make appearances on video where necessary
- Writing stories that are consistently at a high standard and utilize the importance of adapting storytelling techniques to maximize engagement on various syndication platforms
- Source and select engaging photos that will catch and keep a reader’s attention
- Participate in recording our podcast where necessary
Qualifications:
- College diploma or equivalent in journalism, communication, digital media or related field
- Experience writing for both a U.S. and Canadian audience
- Able to share writing portfolios with investing articles
- Should have the ability to write about economic events and investment opportunities
- 2-5 years of related experience
- Newsroom experience is an asset
- Proven writing and editing skills
- Good instincts for story flow and content organization
- Ability to research complicated topics and frame in a simple way
- Willingness to learn, collaborate, cooperate and develop skills on an ongoing basis
- Experience writing about personal finance topics
- Proficiency in CP/AP style, have an eye for detail, can self-edit and edit others’ work to ensure accuracy and impact
